Backside of top diamond is smooth and comfy against the palm, and fingers can wrap around to grip the ridge in the middle of the diamond, or the depression on either side of the ridge. SIZE GUIDE: For FLAT terrain, or rolling hills and groomed trails, a walking staff should be about 4-6" above the elbow, or a few inches below the shoulder. For HILLY terrain, a stick that's shoulder height or even a few inches above the shoulder is often preferred to help when descending.
