Email with any questions....thank you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- KOJI IKUNA (1953- ): Koji Ikuta was born in Tsuruoka city in Yamagata prefecture. He studied the traditional Japanese painting in Tama Art College. He studied under Matazo Kayama, Fumiko Hori. Currently, he is a member of the California Print Maker Association. He is a master of mezzotint technique. In defining his work he stated, "I draw familiar motifs, such as owls, cats, flowers, and birds. I make my work as a kind of self-portrait, in a microcosm. I carve them and print them myself. By depicting from various perspectives with this beautiful technique, I create the microcosm. This microcosm is surrounded by the deep and serene blackness. I hope people can find comfort in my prints and be at ease." Collections of his works are in the permanent collections in Arthur M. Sackler Gallery and many art museum of America, France, Israel, Poland, Egypt, Norway, Ukraine and Taiwan --- Email or Text any Questions.....thank you.
