We believe this medal commemorates the 50th Anniversary of a Church in Germany but we are not positive. It?s the Golden Anniversary (50 years) of something. It appears perhaps a church was created in Steiger IL in 1902 for 40 Catholic families but the years don?t exactly line up. This was a badge that was hanging on to what was left of the cloth ribbon holding the two pieces together. It looked better to cut away the mess and lift these two pieces together. Either a new piece of ribbon can be cut or for display purposes, these two pieces can just be left as is. We will keep the ribbon and include it for the winning buyer just in case it is desired.
