Over the decades, he became known for long, influential runs on titles such as The Incredible Hulk, The Defenders, Captain America, and The Spectacular Spider-Man, often working with top writers like Steve Englehart, J.M. DeMatteis, and Bill Mantlo. Particularly celebrated is his decade-long stint on The Incredible Hulk, where his energetic fight scenes and emotional character work helped define the tone of the series. Equally adept at pencils and inks, Buscema eventually focused more on inking in the latter part of his career, contributing to dozens of titles well into the 2000s.
